課程概述 |
• This course provides a systematic introduction to the disciplines of articulatory and acoustic phonetics. Participants will study the foundational principles underpinning the production of speech sounds across diverse languages and will master the transcription of these sounds utilizing the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA). Furthermore, the course will explore the practical applications of phonetic science across various sectors, such as linguistic fieldwork, second-language pedagogy, performing arts, and speech-language pathology.
• The instructional format comprises a blend of theoretical lectures, practical laboratory work, and a combination of independent study and collaborative learning exercises.
• Prerequisite: Successful completion of "Introduction to Linguistics" or approval from the course instructor. |
課程目標 |
Upon culmination of the year-long sequence, comprising Phonetics I and II, learners will:
Demonstrate a clear understanding of phonetic terminology.
Discriminate and accurately identify speech sounds in both production and perception.
Apply theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios, including language learning and dialectal studies.
Design and execute scientifically valid research in phonetics.
Synthesize empirical findings with observational insights.
Compose detailed reports articulating experimental or field research findings. |
